Language Standards Across the Curriculum: Science and Social Studies Units for 1st Grade

Ever wondered how to teach language standards across the curriculum and increase communication skills for a student with complex communication needs? These units are my answer to that question. Each unit contains activities, a story suggestion that goes along with the topic, and a creative writing exercise. A distinct feature of these units is a section of target sentences made up of core words the student can use in many different times and ways. Actual locations of the core words are available for students who use a Pathfinder communication device with Unity 128 software.
